Body
WHEREAS, in view of recent developments of the 2026 FIFA World Cup being held in Jackson County, the Legislature has determined that it is appropriate to establish an ad hoc committee of the Legislature to examine and report on the opportunities for economic growth, tourism, and community development in the Jackson County area; and,
WHEREAS, this ad hoc committee is authorized by Rule 10 of the Legislature and shall consist of members of the Legislature; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Rule 10, the Chairman of the Legislature shall designate one member as the chairman of the committee; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the ad hoc World Cup Committee is hereby established, with such membership, duties and responsibilities as are set out in this Resolution.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
