Body
WHEREAS, the Greater Kansas City National Hispanic Heritage Committee is celebrating its 45th Anniversary of Fiesta Hispana, a longstanding cultural celebration that brings together families, community leaders, organizations and residents from throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area; and,
WHEREAS, Fiesta Hispana serves as a meaningful celebration of Hispanic heritage, culture, traditions, history and contributions to the Kansas City community, while fostering greater understanding, unity and appreciation among residents of all backgrounds; and,
WHEREAS, Fiesta Hispana marks the beginning of National Hispanic Heritage Month, providing an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the rich history, culture, achievements and enduring contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities throughout Kansas City and across the nation; and,
WHEREAS, as part of National Hispanic Heritage Month activities, Fiesta Hispana has turned into a major cultural event bringing in over 40,000 people each year; and,
WHEREAS, Fiesta Hispana lost one of their beloved board members in 2024, Lisa Lopez Galvan, who lost her life at the tragic Chiefs rally; and,
WHEREAS, the success and longevity of Fiesta Hispana would not be possible without the dedication of the Greater Kansas City National Hispanic Heritage Committee, its leadership, volunteers, sponsors, community partners, performers, vendors, and every individual who contributes their time and talents to making this annual celebration possible; and,
WHEREAS, the 45th Anniversary of Fiesta Hispana represents not only a remarkable milestone, but also a testament to the strength, resilience, and enduring cultural presence of the Hispanic community in the Kansas City region; now therefore,
