Body
WHEREAS, reStart, Inc, is celebrating 45 years of serving the Kansas City community by providing shelter, housing, and supportive services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness; and,
WHEREAS, throughout the past four and a half decades, reStart has worked to help people access resources and opportunities that support greater stability and independence; and,
WHEREAS, the opening of the reStart Family Lodge marks an exciting step in expanding the organization's capacity to serve families in need of temporary housing and support; and,
WHEREAS, the Family Lodge represents an investment in helping families access safe housing and the resources they need to toward long-term stability; and,
WHEREAS, this milestone reflects the dedication of reStart's staff, volunteers, community partners and supporters who continue to further their mission each and every day; and,
WHEREAS, reStart has been a valued and trusted community resource in addressing homelessness and supporting families across the Kansas City area; and,
WHEREAS, Since 1981, reStart has embodied its mission to empower all people facing or experiencing homelessness by providing housing and services that inspire hope; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Jackson County Legislature congratulates reStart, Inc, on the grand opening of the Family Lodge and for 45 years of selfless and tireless work that consistently betters the Kansas City region.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
