Body
WHEREAS, University Health serves as the County's public hospital system and provides essential healthcare services to the residents of Jackson County, including emergency care, trauma services, behavioral health, and other critical medical services; and,

WHEREAS, the County desires to issue Special Obligation Bonds to finance capital improvements for the University Health Project, including the demolition, construction, renovation, furnishing, and equipping of healthcare facilities that will support the continued delivery of healthcare services to residents of Jackson County; and,

WHEREAS, the issuance of Special Obligation Bonds will assist in supporting the continued delivery of these vital healthcare services and related capital and operational needs; and,

WHEREAS, before the County Legislature may consider an ordinance authorizing the issuance of such bonds, federal law requires that the County provide public notice and conduct a public hearing regarding the proposed plan of finance; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized and directed to take the necessary preliminary steps to facilitate the Legislature's consideration of the issuance of Special Obligation Bonds to fund the University Health Project, including:
1. Issuing the required notice of public hearing;
2. Conducting with the Legislature the public hearing no fewer than seven (7) days after publication of the notice; and
3. Preparing for introduction to the County Legislature an Ordinance authorizing the issuance of the bonds following completion of ...
