Body
WHEREAS, Michael Liebig, a high school senior at Lee's Summit North High School, joined the Boy Scouts of America as a Tiger Cub during his first grade year of school; and,

WHEREAS, Michael obtained the Eagle Scout Award in 2005 and has served as Senior Patrol Leader at Scout Camp; and,

WHEREAS, there is a total of 122 Merit Badges that can presently be earned by any member of the Boy Scouts including the Scuba Diving Merit Award established in January 2010; and,

WHEREAS, Michael was presented with his 122nd Merit Badge on March 22, 2010 during Troop 220's Spring Court of Honor ceremony; and,

WHEREAS, Michael is the only child of Debra Liebig, a nurse with the Lee's Summit School District and Mark Liebig, a Sergeant with the Lee's Summit Police Department Traffic Safety Section and the supervisor of the Police Department's Bomb Squad; and,
WHEREAS, Michael's Scout Troop is one of the oldest in the Thunderbird District with a history of remarkable merit badge achievements under the leadership of its Scout Master; Jerry Marlin and Assistant Scout Masters Sean Ahern, John Burre, Greg Green and Joe Piatt as well as Michael's merit badge counselor, Rodger Bowers; and,

WHEREAS, Michael has been recognized at many levels for his numerous leadership roles and volunteer service for his fellow students and the City of Lee's Summit; and,

WHEREAS, Michael was selected as a Missouri Student Ambassador in People to People programs in travel to Europe and China and attendance at the 2008 Presidential Inauguration; and,
