RESOLUTION NO. 22192, March 2, 2026

INTRODUCED BY Donna Peyton, County Legislator

Body
WHEREAS, the County Counselor has a need for outside counsel to provide specialized legal services to represent Jackson County for labor and union services; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1054.6 of the Jackson County Code, the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a contract for the furnishing of legal services for use by the County Counselor's Office to Seyferth, Blumenthal, and Harris, LLC., of Kansas City, MO (Jackson County); now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Counselor be and hereby is authorized to execute a twelve-month Legal Services Agreement, with one twelve-month option to extend, to Seyferth, Blumenthal, and Harris, LLC., of Kansas City, MO, at a cost to the County not to exceed $100,000.00; and,




BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement, to the extent that sufficient appropriations are contained in the then-current County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
