WHEREAS, the 2006 Jackson County Budget, adopted by Ordinance 3719, dated November 21, 2005, contains appropriations from the County's Health Fund for certain outside agencies to provide various public health services to the County and its citizens; and,
WHEREAS, these agencies, and the respective amounts contained in the budget, are as follows:

Swope Health Services $379,498.00
Kansas City Free Health Clinic $150,000.00
Operation Breakthrough $ 60,000.00
Kansas City Free Health Clinic (AIDS Program) $ 65,000.00
Samuel Rodgers Health Center $247,915.00
Sunshine Center $ 50,000.00
Northwest Communities Development Corp. $ 50,000.00
Giant Step Day Program $ 50,000.00
Seton Center $ 25,000.00
Visiting Nurses Association $ 70,000.00
Swope Ridge Geriatric Center $100,000.00
Sickle Cell Disease Association $ 20,000.00
Richard Cabot Westside Clinic $ 36,264.00
TOTAL $1,803,677.00
and,
WHEREAS, the execution of Cooperative Agreements with these agencies, in the amounts indicated, is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute Cooperative Agreements with the specified agencies, in the respective amounts indicated, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
