Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Legislature and Jolley, Walsh, & Hager desire to enter into a contract pursuant to
290, Jackson County Code, 1984; and,
WHEREAS, the Legal Advisor to the Legislature shall be paid an hourly fee of $100.00 plus all reasonable and necessary expenses, up to a limit of $1,115.00, and shall submit regular billings to the Legislature; and,
WHEREAS, the Legal Advisor shall perform only those services requested by the Chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee and/or the Legislature including rendering legal advice and services relating to issues raised by former Legislator Mary Lou Smith; and,
WHEREAS, the Legal Advisor shall be entitled to the defense and indemnification benefits of Jackson County Code
1600 et seq., and the provisions relation thereto; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Chairman of the Legislature's Finance and Audit Committee is authorized to execute the attached contract with Jolley, Walsh, & Hager for the position of Legal Advisor ; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLUTION that the Manager of the Division of Finance is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the contract.
Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
