Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 14070, dated March, 11, 2002, the Legislature did authorize execution of an Agreement with the City of Lee's Summit ("City") for the purchase and use of Sediment Dredging Equipment to mitigate siltation problems at the County's Prairie Lee Lake and in furtherance of the City's Legacy Park development within the South Prairie Lee watershed; and,
WHEREAS, the City and the County now desire to revise terms of the mutually beneficial use of the dredge equipment to deal with the siltation problem in Prairie Lee Lake and other lakes of the City and County, and have negotiated the attached Amendment #1 to the Agreement to that end; and,
WHEREAS, under this Amendment, no additional costs are incurred by the County; and,
WHEREAS, this new arrangement and the execution of the attached Agreement is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Amendment #1 to the Agreement for the Purchase and Use of Sediment Dredging Equipment with the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
