IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI

A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute addenda to the agreements with certain agencies which are engaged in anti-drug prevention activities, to provide services during the 2007 calendar year, at an aggregate cost to the County not to exceed $1,456,124.00.

Body
WHEREAS, by Resolutions 15795 and 15796, both dated February 21, 2006, the Legislature did award two-year contracts for the furnishing of anti-drug prevention services to certain outside agencies, at an aggregate cost to the County not to exceed $1,880,878.00; and,

WHEREAS, the agreements authorized by Resolutions 15795 and 15796 provided that funding for the 2007 calendar year was subject to appropriation and re-authorization by the Legislature; and,

WHEREAS, at its March 8, 2007 meeting, the COMBAT Commission recommended the extension of agreements as outlined on the attached Final Recommendation Summary, for the 2007 calendar year; and,

WHEREAS, the execution of addenda extending the services of these agencies, in the amounts indicated, is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute addenda to the agreements with the specified agencies, in the respective amounts indicated, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreements and all addenda thereto.
