Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Corrections has an obligation to provide comprehensive medical, dental, and pharmaceutical services for all detainees at the Jackson County Detention Center; and,

WHEREAS, currently mental health and medical services are under two separate contracts, and the Jackson County Detention Center is planning to go out to bid for these services under one contract; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has not solicited formal proposals via Request for Proposals process for the furnishing of comprehensive medical, mental health, dental, and pharmaceutical services for use by the Department of Corrections; and,

WHEREAS, while waiting for medical and mental health services to go out to bid, the Detention Center would like current mental health services to continue under the current provider until new services are established under one contract; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1054.6 of the Jackson County Code, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a month-to-month contract, for the furnishing of mental health services to Advanced Correctional Healthcare of Peoria, IL; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
