INTRODUCED BY James D. Tindall, County Legislator

Body
WHEREAS, the County desires to join with other organizations and governmental entities in efforts to honor Dr. Martin Luther King for his contributions to the equality of all Americans; and,

WHEREAS, the County deems it to be in the best interest of the citizenry to support such programs and activities; and,

WHEREAS, Tomorrow's Future has requested funding to put on a stage play, "Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.," for children 7 through 12 years of age; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is authorized to execute a contract with Tomorrow's Future for funding of programs to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, at a cost not to exceed $10,000.00; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance is authorized to issue a check in the amount of $10,000.00 to Tomorrow's Future.
Attorney
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
