Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 4092, dated March 9, 2009, the Legislature did approve the Solving Cold Cases with DNA Grant, received from the U. S. Department of Justice; and,

WHEREAS, by Resolution 17033, dated October 12, 2009, and by Resolution 17268, dated May 3, 2010, the Legislature did approve extensions of the grant to continue to provide funding for salaries and benefits for the employees assigned to the grant for the periods of October 1, 2009, through July 31, 2010, and August 1, 2010 through November 30, 2010, at no additional cost to the County; and,

WHEREAS, the County and the U.S. Department of Justice now desire to extend the grant to continue to provide funding for salaries and benefits for the employees assigned to the grant for the period of December 1, 2010, through May 31, 2011, at no additional cost to the County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Solving Cold Cases with DNA Grant, received from the U. S. Department of Justice, be and hereby is extended until May 31, 2011; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Prosecuting Attorney and all other County officials be and hereby are authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to this execution.

Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
