AN ORDINANCE appropriating storm water reimbursement grant funds in the amount of $89,000.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2005 Special Road and Bridge Fund and authorizing the County Executive to execute an Agreement with the United States Geological Survey MO Water Science Center for the placement of three steam gauges and three crest stage gauges on Sni-A-Bar Creek.

Body
WHEREAS, an unanticipated reimbursement of $89,000.00 was received from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and credited to the unappropriated surplus of the 2005 Special Road and Bridge Fund; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works requests that these funds be used for the placement of three steam gauges and three crest stage gauges on Sni-A-Bar Creek, by the United States Geological Survey ("USGS") MO Water Science Center; and,
WHEREAS, USGS will operate and maintain these gauges for a period of one year; and,
WHEREAS, any maps, records, or reports resulting from the Agreement with USGS, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, shall be made available to the public, or if published by either party, shall contain a statement of cooperative relations between the parties; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be made from the unappropriated surplus of the 2005 Special Road and Bridge Fund for the agreement with USGS for three steam gauges and three crest stage gauges on Sni-A-Bar Creek:
