Body
WHEREAS, 620. of the Jackson County Code, 1984, provides that the Compliance Review Officer (CRO) be supervised by the Legislature's Finance and Audit Committee, even though the CRO is a member of the staff of the County Auditor; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature believes that it is generally appropriate for each county officer to supervise the members of that officer's staff; and,
WHEREAS, in this case, the Legislature believes that the Auditor should supervise the CRO, who is a member of the Auditor's staff, and who is familiar with the CRO's work; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri , as follows:
Section A. Enacting Clause. Section 620., Jackson County Code, 1984, is hereby repealed, and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as 620., to read as follows:
620. Compliance Review Officer.
There is hereby established a non-merit position of Compliance Review Officer as a member of the staff of the County Auditor. The CRO shall be supervised and directed by the [Finance and Audit Committee] County Auditor.
