Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Community Mental Health Fund was created in 1982 to distribute funds from the County's mental health levy to supplement operation of community mental health clinics and other mental health services in Jackson County; and,

WHEREAS, the Fund's Board of Trustees awarded its first contracts on June 19, 1982, and has completed thirty years of service in the interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; and,

WHEREAS, the Trustees of the Community Mental Health Fund dedicate significant time and diligent stewardship to Jackson County without pay, and the Trustees' four-person staff administers contracts and initiatives with efficiency and professionalism; and,

WHEREAS, the Trustees and staff have developed and maintained the Community Mental Health Fund with high regard for taxpayer accountability, professional standards, and responsiveness to emerging and established effective practices; and,

WHEREAS, the Trustees and staff provide support to a network of charitable, non-profit agencies providing skilled mental health services for more than ten thousand uninsured children, adults, and families annually; and,

WHEREAS, the Trustees and staff develop, promote, and support intergovernmental programs including the Jackson County Mental Health Court and Law Enforcement Crisis Intervention Teams (CIT), all programs that have gained state and national recognition; now therefore,
