Body
WHEREAS, due to crowded conditions in the Jackson County Detention Center, the County desires to house certain inmates with the City of Joplin, at the Joplin City Jail; and,
WHEREAS, the City owns and has available a jail facility and desires to house the County's inmates; and,
WHEREAS, the City has proposed an Agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto, whereunder the County may, at its option, house up to ten inmates in the Joplin City Jail, at the rate of $42 per inmate, per day, with no minimum obligation; and,
WHEREAS, the execution of this Agreement is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Agreement with the City of Joplin, Missouri.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
