AN ORDINANCE appropriating $23,273.25 from the fund balance of the 2008 Recorder's Technology Fund and authorizing the purchase of maintenance support of the automated indexing software for use by the Recorder of Deeds Department to Manatron of Austin, TX, at a cost to the County not to exceed $23,273.25, as a sole source purchase.

Body
WHEREAS, section 1030.1, Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a contract to Manatron of Austin, TX, for the furnishing of maintenance support for the Recorder of Deeds Department's automated indexing software; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has determined that Manatron is the sole source for these services as the maintenance support can only be obtained from Manatron, which is the supplier of the software; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the funds in the appropriate spending account; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the fund balance of the 2008 Recorders Technology Fund be and hereby is made:
