Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 11434, dated September 16, 1996, the County did award one-year contracts for group health insurance to Humana Health Care and Kaiser Permanente; and,

WHEREAS, said contracts each provided for two one-year guaranteed renewal terms, with caps on premium increases; and,

WHEREAS, Humana has offered its initial one-year renewal term at no increase in premium and Kaiser has offered a renewal term within the caps; and,

WHEREAS, the ad hoc Risk and Insurance Committee recommends renewal of the County's current contracts for group health insurance for County employees for 1998 upon terms and conditions set forth in the original agreements, including a increase in rates for Kaiser Permanente, as follows:

therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the extension and renewal of the health insurance contract of Humana Health Care Plans, consisting of a Staff/IPA Model, and Kaiser Permanente, consisting of both a Staff/IPA PPO Model upon terms and conditions set out in the original agreements, be, and hereby are approved; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Executive be, and hereby is, authorized to execute and all documents necessary to effect these extensions and renewals.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
