Body
WHEREAS, Aldon Smith was a devoted son whose athletic talent and determination earned him recognition at the University of Missouri and in the National Football League; and,
WHEREAS, during his career, he established himself as a highly impressive defensive player and inspired countless fans through his achievements on the field; and,
WHEREAS, Aldon’s dedication to his craft brought recognition to his home state and his community; and,
WHEREAS, those who knew him remember not only his athletic ability, but his perseverance and strength in overcoming the many challenges of life; and,
WHEREAS, his passing on June 13, 2026, is a loss felt by family, friends, teammates, and admirers across the nation; and,
WHEREAS, the legacy of Aldon Smith will continue to be honored by the many lives he touched throughout his career and beyond; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Jackson County Legislature extends its deepest condolences to Aldon Smith’s family and loved ones and honors his memory with deep gratitude and respect.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
