Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 15252, dated November 22, 2004, the Legislature did award a contract for the construction of the Colbern Road Project, No. 2411, as a joint venture between the City of Lee's Summit and the County; and,

WHEREAS, the project was completed in 2007 and now the pavement has shown signs of distress such as cracking and spalling of the surface; and,

WHEREAS, the Directors of Public Works for the County and for the City of Lee's Summit recommend evaluation and materials testing of the pavement to be conducted by a contractor retained by the City, at a cost not to exceed $11,430.00; and,

WHEREAS, the City of Lee's Summit requests approval of the payment from the City's County Urban Road System (CURS) account; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works recommends approval of the request; and

WHEREAS, the Legislature finds that the evaluation and materials testing of the pavement on Colbern Road is in the best interests of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that pursuant to chapter 28, Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to issue a check in the amount of $11,430.00 to the City of Lee's Summit for a pavement evaluation and materials testing study.


Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
