Body
WHEREAS, the City of Independence has requested an easement across a portion of Little Blue Trace Park property located at 39th Street to replace and widen the bridge at that location; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation has recommended that the County execute the attached General Utility Easement with the City of Independence for improvements to the 39th Street bridge over a portion of the Little Blue Trace Trail; and,

WHEREAS, this project will cause the Trail to be closed within the work zone for the duration of the construction, which could last approximately two years; and,

WHEREAS, the City has agreed to pay the County easement and processing fees required by the County Code, totaling $3,188.20, and

WHEREAS, the execution of the attached easement and supporting documents is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the attached General Utility Easement is hereby approved and that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the County the Agreements and any other documents necessary to give effect to this Resolution.


Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
