Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 14667, dated July 7, 2003, the Legislature did authorize the County Executive to execute an agreement with Veronica's Voice to partially fund certain programs designed to prevent prostitution, drug use and drug-related offenses, at a cost to the County not to exceed $15,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, Veronica's Voice coordinators are not presently in a position to comply with all applicable Executive Orders and matching COMBAT grant funding requirements as the program has not yet incorporated in Missouri or obtained 501 (c) (3) status with the IRS; and,
WHEREAS, the County and Share, Inc., now desire to enter into an Agreement that will provide for a prostitution intervention and prevention program consistent with the Legislature's intent; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that Resolution 14667, dated July 7, 2003, be and hereby is rescinded and the funds previously authorized are to be unencumbered.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
