Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 17597, dated May 23, 2011, and Resolution 17714, dated October 31, 2011, the Legislature did award a contract for law enforcement computer information services to the Regional Justice Information Services (REJIS) Commission, of St. Louis, MO, for use by the Department of Corrections, the Sheriff's Office, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office, and the Jackson County Drug Task Force; and,

WHEREAS, REJIS gives access to criminal justice agencies to the FBI Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS); and,

WHEREAS, CJIS requires the Missouri State Highway Patrol, as the CJIS System Agency for the State of Missouri, to enter into an agreement with any agency seeking access to CJIS data; and,

WHEREAS, the attached agreement with the Missouri State Highway Patrol is necessary to give the County's using departments continued access to this system through their REJIS subscriptions, at no additional cost to the County; and,

WHEREAS, execution of the attached agreement is in the best interest of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County the attached agreement and any other documents necessary to give effect to this Resolution.
