Body
WHEREAS, Comprehensive Mental Health Services' Adolescents with Co-Occurring Disorders program will provide intensive services to under-served adolescents burdened with the significantly under-treated risk factor of a mental health disorder resulting in a high occurrence of illegal substance use; and,
WHEREAS, a multidisciplinary team approach consisting of psychiatry, nursing, and master's level case management will facilitate educating parents, family members, and school personnel in helping the teens become healthy, productive, and contributing members of society; and,
WHEREAS, youth will participate in the drug and alcohol outpatient program, CSTAR, and will receive bio-psycho-educational substance abuse treatment services, and will be referred to the program by Drug Court, Truancy Court, and schools; and
WHEREAS, Comprehensive Mental Health Services has received a grant for this program in the amount of $10,064.00 from the Missouri Department of Mental Health and requested Anti-Drug Sales Tax matching funds in the amount of $10,000.00 to serve as a local match; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into a Cooperative Agreement, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor, with Comprehensive Mental Health Services for the Adolescents with Co-Occurring Disorders program, at a cost to t...
