Body
WHEREAS, section 1030.1, Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source and requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $25,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Medical Examiner's Office is in need of additional autopsy cart tops and chassis to maximize the number of bodies which can be stored in the facility; and,

WHEREAS, Mopec of Oak Park, MI, is the sole source for the desired autopsy cart tops and chassis because the autopsy workstations were created with Mopec equipment and are not compatible with other manufacturers; and,

WHEREAS, the Medical Examiner's Office is in need of touch screen computers to view digital x-rays at the autopsy stations; and,

WHEREAS, Tek Panel of Sugar Grove, IL, is the sole source for the desired touch screen computers because they are water proof and have large, high definition screens, making the autopsy process more efficient; and,

WHEREAS, the Medical Examiner's Office is in need of a forensic drying cabinet to reduce the chance of cross-contamination and destruction of evidence; and,
