Body
WHEREAS, Swope Parkway Health Center's "Health Care For The Homeless" program is an aggressive, mobile outreach program staffed by physician assistants, substance abuse counselors, outreach workers, case managers, and intake specialists, offered to the County's drug-abusing homeless population; and,

WHEREAS, Swope Parkway Health Center's "Health Care For The Homeless" program has requested $90,000.00 in anti-drug sales tax funds to secure the continuation of this federally-funded program; and,

WHEREAS, these funds will be used as a portion of the local match to a United States Department of Housing and Urban Development grant in the amount of $6,227,291.00 for this program; and,

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor, with Swope Parkway Health Center for its "Health Care For The Homeless" program; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
