Body
WHEREAS, the River Market Community Improvement District (RMCID) and the River Market Community Association, non-profit organizations in Jackson County, are advocating for the establishment of a fenced, off-leash area for dogs in the River Market area of Kansas City, in Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, RMCID has nearly achieved its fundraising goal, and the County's contribution of $1,000.00 toward this effort will be recognized in its fundraising efforts; and,
WHEREAS, the establishment of fenced off-leash areas for dogs helps alleviate the risk of dogs running at large in the community, a serious public health and safety concern; and,
WHEREAS, sponsorship of this effort is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer is necessary to cover the cost of this payment; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this transfer; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be made within the 2015 Health Fund:
