WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. 32-95 for the furnishing of inmate food service for use by the Corrections Department; and,

WHEREAS, he has received as the lowest three bids thereon the following:

VENDOR BID
(per meal/estimated annual) Service America Corporation Elk Grove Village, IL $1.19/$833,000.00

ARAMARK Correctional Service, Inc. Oak Brook, IL $1.319/$923,300.00

Canteen Corporation Kansas City (Jackson County), MO $1.367/$956,900.00

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has recommended that award be made to Service America Corporation of Elk Grove Village, IL, for the reason that it's the lowest and best bid; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent sufficient appropriations to he using spending agency have heretofore been made in the current Jackson County budget.
Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
