INTRODUCED BY Dennis Waits, County Legislator

Body
WHEREAS, YouthNet provides a program whereby outreach workers make anti-drug and anti-violence demonstrations to classrooms and become mentors to children; and,

WHEREAS, YouthNet has requested $150,000.00 to secure the continuation of its program; and,

WHEREAS, these funds will be used as the local match to private funds in the aggregate amount of $321,300 for the YouthNet program, $150,000 of which is being provided by the Ewing M. Kauffman Foundation as primary grantor; and,

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein by reference, with YouthNet for its program; and,


BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.
Attorney
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
