Body
WHEREAS, the Associate Fellow Award is presented by the Missouri Parks and Recreation Association (MPRA) to Parks and Recreation professionals who have been in the field for less than ten years, served on standing or special committees of the MPRA, authored published articles, facilitated community group presentations in the interest of parks and recreation, and provided outstanding contributions to the field through innovative ideas and programs; and,

WHEREAS, Joe is the Assistant Administrator for Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation; and,

WHEREAS, Joe currently serves as the Region 1 Director for the MPRA and co-chaired the development of an implementation of a national facility design school for the Kansas City metro area on behalf of the MPRA; and,

WHEREAS, Joe is certified as a National Recreation and Parks Professional, Recreation Sports Specialist, Aquatic Facility Operator, and has completed the Parks and Recreation Maintenance Management School and the Revenue Development School; and,
WHEREAS, Joe has been published in the National Parks & Recreation magazine and has been a regular presenter at programs for both state and national parks as well as other recreation organizations; and,

WHEREAS, Joe guided the operation of the rapidly expanding recreation section of Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation and managed the development of the Gamber Center, a unique multi-generational facility; and,

WHEREAS, the Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation Department is one of four parks and recreation departments in the nation in their population group that is a finalist for the prestigious National Gold Medal Award, an honor presented by the American Acad...
