Body
WHEREAS, Emmet Pierson was appointed to the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority Commission by Governor Mike Parsons on June 5, 2024; and,

WHEREAS, in the role, Mr. Pierson will help guide the future of the Harry S. Truman Sports Complex in accordance with authority's mission with the purpose to oversee the upkeep and running of the premiere sports facility nationwide and govern any funding received from government and private sources; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Pierson is president and CEO of Community Builders of Kansas City (CBKC) where he is charged with developing and implementing CBKC's integrated entrepreneurial business model, forging new partnerships, designing new solutions and strengthening bonds to convene communities, increase resource and empower families; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Pierson is the former chairman of the Lee's Summit Housing Authority; and,



WHEREAS, Mr. Pierson presently serves on UMKC's Board of Trustees and was recently recognized in Missouri Ingram's Magazine 2023 Class of 50 Missourians You Should Know; and,

WHEREAS, as a sports enthusiast, Mr. Pierson is co-founder and assistant head coach of Excelerate Phenom Youth Track and Field Organization for kids ages six to eighteen years old with the mission to "Excelerate" the lives and abilities of their athletes, families, and the community through the sport of track and field; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Pierson has been a lifelong Kansas City resident, graduating from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of General of Studies in Human Biology and currently resides in Lee's Summit with his wife and two children; now therefore,
