Body
WHEREAS, Barbara Beikman is retiring after many dedicated years to the Jackson County Board of Election Commissioners; and,
WHEREAS, Barbara will end her 17-year career as a mapping coordinator on January 8, 1999; and,
WHEREAS, Barbara coordinated two county-wide redistricting projects and the current mapping program which includes the Jackson County map, township maps, sub-district maps, senate district maps, state representative district maps, county legislative district maps, and precinct maps; and,
WHEREAS, Barbara has also participated in numerous educational seminars, served as liaison to the State of Missouri Office of Administration and Budgeting regarding the 1980 and 1990 census, and Project 2000, and served as liaison to the Jackson County planning department as well as all municipal planning and economic development departments; and,
WHEREAS, Barbara has displayed professionalism and exemplary service during her tenure with the Jackson County Board of Election Commissioners and will be fondly remembered by her friends and co-workers; and,
WHEREAS, Barbara and her husband, Ray, have two daughters, Leanne and Kris, and three granddaughters, Laura, Amy, and Alisa; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the Legislature congratulates Barbara Beikman upon her 17 years with the Jackson County Board of Election Commissioners, and wishes her well in her retirement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
