Body
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office has proposed a Re-Entry Conference to assist those who work with the approximately 2,000 parolees who return to Jackson County each year in determining how best to facilitate their re-entry into society; and,
WHEREAS, this conference will enable all social service agencies involved in the re-entry process to develop a comprehensive plan and to share and coordinate scarce resources; and,
WHEREAS, housing, healthcare, law enforcement, and employment agencies will all be represented at this conference; and,
WHEREAS, Resource Development Institute of Kansas City, Missouri, has agreed to stage this conference at a cost to the County not to exceed $3,000; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County a Cooperative Agreement with Resource Development Institute of Kansas City, Missouri, for the sponsorship of the Re-Entry Conference, at a cost to the County not to exceed $3,000.00, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
