Body
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has a surplus vehicle, described in attached Exhibit A, that incurred extensive damage in an accident; and,

WHEREAS, the Risk Manager has accepted a check in the amount of $12,820.37 from Progressive Insurance in settlement of the damages, which were extensive enough to warrant salvage; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends that said property be declared surplus and sold to Countyline Auto Parts for salvage; and,

WHEREAS, a fair and equitable salvage price of $7,000.00 has been negotiated with Countyline Auto Parts to properly dispose of the vehicle; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the vehicle at the Public Works Department, further described and itemized in Exhibit A, be declared surplus, and that the Director of Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to dispose of it pursuant to Chapter 11, Jackson County Code, 1984; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the vehicle be sold as salvage to Countyline Auto Parts for the amount of $7,000.00, pursuant to Section 1141. of the Jackson County Code, 1984.

Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
