Body
WHEREAS, Cooper Leabo, a student at Summit Technology Academy and a senior at Lee's Summit West High School in the Lee's Summit R-7 School District, recently took first-place in the SkillsUSA National Championship Competition in the Internetworking event; and,
WHEREAS, Cooper participated in the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference during June 2014, competing against more than 6,000 outstanding career and technical education students taking part in hands on competitions in 99 different trade, technical, and leadership fields; and,
WHEREAS, in addition to Cooper's gold medal finish at the SkillsUSA National competition, he previously took third place at the Cyberpatriot competition at Summit Technology Academy and was first in the United States for the Cisco Netriders Challenge; and
WHEREAS, Cooper is a National Merit Semifinalist and an Eagle Scout; and,
WHEREAS, Cooper's parents, Todd and Denise, and sister Addison, are justifiably proud of their son and brother; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Cooper Leabo upon the occasion of winning first place in the SkillsUSA National Championship Competition, and extends best wishes to him in all of his future endeavors.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
