Body
WHEREAS, the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD) provides counseling and treatment for convicted offenders who are returning to home neighborhoods under the supervision of probation and parole; and,
WHEREAS, this program, Opportunity to Succeed (OPTS), will provide transitional assistance to assist the offenders with remaining drug free; and,
WHEREAS, the OPTS program is supported with funding from the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University in the amount of $50,762.00; and,
WHEREAS, these funds are subject to a local match in the amount of $50,762.00 for the OPTS program; and
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into the attached Agreement, a copy of which is incorporated herein by reference, with NCADD...Attorney
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
