Body
WHEREAS, the Missouri Department of Public Safety has awarded the County a grant in the amount of $220,430.00, to be used to fund a portion of the Prosecuting Attorney's Sentenced to the Arts program for the period of October 1, 2011, through September 30, 2012; and,

WHEREAS, the grant requires matching funds in the amount of $24,492.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Sentenced to the Arts program provides expressive therapy programs and services to adjudicated youth; and,

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office recommends Cooperative Agreements with Arts Tech of Kansas City (Jackson County), MO, in the amount of $176,282.00, which will provide oversight and implementation of the program, Deana Bellamaganya of Kansas City (Jackson County), MO, in the amount of $53,040.00, who will manage and direct the program, and Jennifer Osborne of Kansas City (Jackson County), MO, in the amount of $15,600.00, who will coordinate the re-entry portion of the Sentenced to the Arts Program and will identify eligible program youth to transition back into the community through the MyARTS program; and,

WHEREAS, a transfer and appropriation are necessary to place the grant and matching funds in the proper spending accounts; and,
