Body
WHEREAS, a grant opportunity was offered through the Mid America Regional Counsel (MARC) under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA); and,
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 4115, dated July 6, 2009, the Legislature did authorize the County Executive to execute an Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement with the Missouri Department of Transportation to receive grant monies for use on the Longview Lake Trail Replacement; and,
WHEREAS, engineering design services are needed to meet the submittal requirements of the ARRA; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works solicited proposals for engineering design services in connection with the Longview Lake Trail Replacement on Request for Proposal No. 23-09; and,
WHEREAS, the Director received twelve proposals in response there to and recommends award of a contract to Shafer, Kline and Warren, as its proposal was the highest ranked of those received; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be, and hereby is, authorized to execute the an agreement with Shafer, Kline and Warren of Lenexa, KS, for professional engineering services, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor, at a cost to the County not to exceed $63,000.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the contract.
