Body
WHEREAS, Dr. Cynthia Bateman, assistant principal of Lee's Summit North High School was recently named Secondary Assistant Principal of the Year by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP); and,

WHEREAS, Dr. Bateman was nominated for this honor by Stan Elliott, Principal of Lee's Summit North High School, who referred to Dr. Bateman as a "student-focused, goal-orientated team player who embodies the qualities of outstanding leadership and student advocacy;" and,

WHEREAS, she was also called fair, consistent, compassionate, and professional, and was praised for her outstanding communication skills with students, parents, and staff; and,

WHEREAS, Dr. Bateman began her career as a teacher and debate coach in the Independence School District, later served as assistant principal at William Chrisman High School, and became assistant principal at Lee's Summit North when it opened in 1995; and,

WHEREAS, Dr. Bateman has previously been named Greater Kansas City New Administrator of the Year (1994), Greater Kansas City Assistant Principal of the Year (1999), and Triple Diamond National Forensic League Coach; and,

WHEREAS, Dr. Bateman has served as secretary/treasurer and board member for the Greater Kansas City Principals' Association, and is a member of Kappa Honor Society, the National Association of Secondary School Principals, the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals, and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development; and,

WHEREAS, Dr. Bateman served on the Lee's Summit R-7 School District's strategic planning committee and recently served as ...
