Body
WHEREAS, since his election to the Missouri General Assembly in 2002, Representative Ray Salva has been instrumental in sponsoring and advocating legislation in the areas of veterans rights , labor issues, banking, charitable and civic organizations, care for the elderly, and many others; and;

WHEREAS, Representative Salva has worked vigorously to assist disabled individuals, including veterans, in attaining forgotten disability benefits and blind pension fund benefits; and,

WHEREAS, he has been a champion of rights in labor issues by defending workers' rights and insisting on workplace safety; and,

WHEREAS, Representative Salva co-sponsored and worked diligently for the passage of a law relieving cities and villages of liability during festivals and fairs which proved to be a key component of financial assistance and afforded these communities the opportunity to continue community events; and,

WHEREAS, Representative Salva sponsored legislation that was signed into law extending the enterprise zone of the City of Independence to include a satellite zone in the City of Sugar Creek, which is a vital tool for Sugar Creek in enhancing economic development, creating new jobs, and generating of revenue; and,

WHEREAS, Representative Salva's Bill 1952, passed into law, prohibits industrial loan companies and industrial banks from doing business in Missouri thereby protecting local banks from unfair practices and potential closure; and,

WHEREAS, Representative Salva sponsored legislation granting a state sales tax exemption for sales made to or by charitable and civic organizations such ...
