INTRODUCED BY Victor E. Callahan, Lisa White Hardwick, Fred Arbanas, John Patrick Burnett, Carl W. Bussey, Dennis Waits,Dan Tarwater, Dixie Flynn, County Legislators
WHEREAS, John C. Graham, Sr. was elected to the Jackson County Legislature and began serving his term on January 1, 1995 as Legislator for the 6th District; and,
WHEREAS, while serving on the Legislature, Mr. Graham acted as Chairman of the Public Works Committee in 1996, 1997, and 1998; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Graham also served as a committee member of the Health and Justice Committee for the years 1997 and 1998, Intergovernmental Affairs Committee in 1995, 1996, 1997, and 1998, and Finance & Audit Committee in 1995; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Graham was also a member of the Little Blue Valley Sewer District and Area Transportation Authority; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Graham was also instrumental in the removal of the Bailey Bridge from R. D. Mize Road to No. 2 Quarry and then reconstructed at Kenneth Road for Kansas City; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Graham was recognized by the Truman Heartland Foundation as Citizen of the Year for 1998 in Lee's Summit; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Graham has earned distinction for the four years he has served on the Legislature due to his personal commitment to the citizens of the district he has represented; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature recognizes and commends John C. Graham, Sr. for his four years of outstanding service on the Jackson County Legislature.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
