A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute an agreement with the Friends of the Independence Japanese Sister City Commission, Inc., for funding to assist and support its charitable and educational activities, at a cost to the County not to exceed $5,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the County and the Friends of the Independence Japanese Sister City Commission, Inc., desire to enter into an agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, whereunder the County will pay $5,000.00 to Friends of the Independence Japanese Sister City Commission, Inc., to be used to assist and support its charitable and educational activities; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the agreement is hereby approved and that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute the agreement on behalf of the County; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
