RESOLUTION #10623, January 30, 1995 INTRODUCED BY Dixie M. Flynn, County Legislator

Body
WHEREAS, the Legislature has determined that it is in the County's best interest to retain experienced and respected public liaisons to advocate the Legislature's positions on various matters during the 1995 regular session of the Missouri General Assembly, to work with the Legislature in conjunction with the Jackson County Sports Authority, particularly regarding proper funding of the sports complex leases, and to perform such other duties as may be directed by the Legislature's Intergovernmental Affairs Committee; and,

WHEREAS, the Legislature believes that, that because the Missouri House of Representatives is 46% Republican and 54% Democrat and the Missouri Senate is 44% Republican and 56% Democrat, a bipartisan public liaison effort will be more effective in achieving the objectives of Jackson County; and,

WHEREAS, W.T. Dawson and Robert E. "Bud" Hertzog are experienced and respected and their retention as the County's public liaison would serve the goal of presenting a bipartisan front to the Missouri General Assembly; and

WHEREAS, true bipartisanship would require that the liaisons be retained on equal terms; and

WHEREAS, the attached Agreements, in equal amounts, set out the rights and obligations of the parties; therefore,
