BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri as follows:
Section A. Enacting Clause. Section 5055., and 5057., Jackson County Code, 1984, are hereby repealed and two new sections enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as sections 5055., 5057 and 5058., to read as follows:
5055 Pontoon Boats on Lake Jacomo.
Pontoon boats on Lake Jacomo shall not have a motor or combination of motors that exceed [forty] ninety horsepower [(40 HP)] (90 HP) as rated by the manufacturer of the motor.
5056 Sailboats on Lake Jacomo
Displacement-type nonplaning sailboats on Lake Jacomo shall not have a motor or combination of motors that exceed [forty] sixty horsepower [(40 HP)] (60 HP) as rated by the manufacturer of the motor.
5057. All Other Boats on Lake Jacomo.
Other boats shall not be operated on Lake Jacomo using an attached or installed motor or combination of motors having more than [twenty-five] sixty horsepower [(25 HP)] (60 HP) as rated by the manufacturer of the motor. All boats on Lake Jacomo having an attached or installed motor or combination of motors of greater than [25] 60 HP must have the lower unit of that motor raised and fixed above the water level and the propeller [removed] covered.
5060. Maximum Speed on Lake Jacomo.
Except for lake patrol boats operated by the County or state, motorized boats may not be operated on Lake Jacomo in excess of 20 miles per hour (20 mph).

Effective Date: This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon signature by the County Executive.
