Body
WHEREAS, the members of the Office of Human Relations and Citizen Complaints Commission ("OHRCC Commission") perform a valuable public service; and,

WHEREAS, service on the OHRCC Commission is an activity that the County Legislature recognizes can impose significant burdens on the members and their families; and,

WHEREAS, the County Legislature wishes to recognize and honor the service of the members of the OHRCC Commission by increasing their compensation rate per meeting; now therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, as follows:

Section A. Enacting Clause.

Section 7403.6., Jackson County Code, 1984, is hereby repealed, and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as Section 7403.6., to read as follows:


7403.6 Compensation.
Members of the commission shall be compensated at the rate of [$50] $100 per meeting, but shall not receive total compensation of more than [$700] $1200 in any calendar year. "Meeting" shall be interpreted to include hearings, regular and special meetings of the commission, and meetings of commission committees. Commissioners shall also be entitled to the reimbursement of their expenses actually incurred on commission business subject to approval by vote of the commission and budgetary limitations.


Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
