Body
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has solicited bids pursuant on Electronic Solicitation No. BB200730 for the furnishing of automatic transmission repair service for use by the Public Works and the Parks and Recreation Departments; and,

WHEREAS, a total of twenty-seven (27) solicitations were distributed and six (6) responses were received, with the three lowest bidders as follows:

BIDDERS HOURLY REPAIR RATE
Knickerbocker d/b/a Aamco Transmissions $ 38.50
Kansas City (Jackson County), MO

Certified Transmission Rebuilders $42.50
Independence, MO

Naura Aamco $55.00
Blue Springs, MO

and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has recommended that the contract be split and awarded to the two lowest and best bidders, Knickerbocker, Inc., d/b/a Aamco Transmissions of Kansas City, MO, and Certified Transmission Rebuilders of Independence, MO; and,

WHEREAS, the Director recommends a split award so as to allow the using departments to best monitor expenditures, service levels, and warranty criteria; and,

WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases subject to annual appropriation; now therefore,
