Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Drug Task Force (JCDTF) is a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement unit that conducts undercover drug operations; and,


WHEREAS, the JCDTF's current office location has been compromised during the course of its business and it is necessary that the JCDTF move to a new secure location within the County; and,

WHEREAS, the JCDTF has negotiated a lease for a suitable location with EL, LLC, at a cost to the County for 2011 not to exceed $36,000.00; and,

WHEREAS the lease is renewable, subject to annual appropriations, through December 31, 2016; and,

WHEREAS, the execution of the lease agreement is in the best interest of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute a lease agreement with EL, LLC, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
