Body
WHEREAS, a key element of the Jackson County Master Plan "Strategy for the Future," adopted by the Legislature pursuant to Ordinance 2265 on January 18, 1994, was the implementation of a Unified Development Code, which would govern the development of land in unincorporated Jackson County; and,

WHEREAS, the Unified Development Code adopted by the Legislature pursuant to Ordinance 2363 on May 23, 1995, provides land development regulations in accordance with the adopted Master Plan, for the purpose of promoting the health, safety, comfort, convenience, morals, and general welfare of the unincorporated area; and,

WHEREAS, the Unified Development Code has established zoning districts to classify and segregate the use of land and buildings; and,

WHEREAS, the Official Zoning Map of Jackson County, Missouri ("Zoning Map") illustrates the boundaries of all zoning districts by classification; and,

WHEREAS, the change in the titles of certain zoning districts pursuant to the Unified Development Code has no effect on any of the substantive or procedural zoning regulations otherwise applicable to such zoning districts; and,

WHEREAS, the Legislature has determined that there is a necessity for this change in the zoning map and that such change is in the best interest of the public at large and the citizens of Jackson County, and that such change will promote the general health, safety and welfare of this community; now therefore,
