Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County COMBAT Commission was empowered by Ordinances 1771, 1795, and 1941 to make recommendations to the Legislature for the expenditure of Anti-Drug Sales Tax Funds for the purposes of treatment and rehabilitation of drug offenders; and,

WHEREAS, Hope House/Newhouse was authorized funding through Resolution 11993, dated December 15, 1997, in the amount of $75,000.00 for its treatment and rehabilitation program upon the recommendation of the COMBAT Commission; and,

WHEREAS, Hope House/Newhouse has requested that its contract be reduced from $75,000 to $40,000, thereby releasing funds originally set aside for them in the amount of $35,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, Hope House has also requested that authority for its subcontract with Newhouse be eliminated; and,

WHEREAS, the COMBAT Commission, at its meeting of June 11, 1998, has recommended using the funds released from Hope House/Newhouse to contract with Sheffield Place for its treatment program; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that Resolution 11993, dated December 15, 1997, be and hereby is partially rescinded as to the $35,000 subcontract with Newhouse; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement with Sheffield Place, in a form approved by the County Counselor; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement...Attorney
